We're a small team in Leith, Edinburgh, building the Hearth end to end — hardware, software, and everything in between. Higlo is a device that connects to your TV, enabling immersive video calls and interactive shared experiences for the whole family. Simply place Higlo above or below your TV, open the built-in cover, and connect with your family and loved ones. No extra apps are required, just start building, playing, and chatting with your loved ones as if you were all in the same room.
Unlike standard phone or computer calls, Higlo lets everyone move around freely while staying in the frame. The wide-angle camera and smart tracking keep family members visible at all times, even if kids are dancing across the living room. On top of that, Higlo’s Build Engine allows you to create, draw, and collaborate together, whether that’s playing games, telling stories, or planning a family vacation.
Absolutely. Higlo is designed with family well-being as a top priority. The device only powers on when you open the built-in cover, respecting your privacy. Higlo also doesn’t serve ads or collect personal data, there are no hidden upsells, in-app purchases, or internet rabbit holes.
Yes! Higlo is designed for all ages, from 4 to 84. Its intuitive interface uses voice, gestures, and simple on-screen prompts. Parents, grandparents, or tech-shy relatives can pick it up quickly. No complicated setups or complex app menus to navigate.
Yes, this is coming soon. Higlo supports shared viewing experiences so everyone can watch and engage together in real time. It’s like having a movie night together, even if you’re miles apart. Laugh, chat about the plot, and bond over your favourite scenes, all while seeing each other’s reactions.
Installation is straightforward. Place Higlo on or below your TV, plug it into your TV. A brief on-screen guide will walk you through the setup process that’s extremely straight forward. In fact you can order your Hearth pre-configured so no setup is required at all. Once connected, you can immediately start calls, watch shows, or build interactive experiences with your family.
A lot of people were disappointed when Facebook/Meta discountinued the Portal, and in particular the Portal TV. You can use Higlo in a similar way to stay in touch with family. If you’re a former Portal owner, learn more on this page.
