Beta

Get Beta Hearths now and we'll upgrade you to the production Hearth free when they're ready.

What does beta mean?

Beta Batches are small early production runs — only 200 units in Beta Batch 2 — for families who want Higlo first and are happy to help us perfect it. You get exclusive early access, 3 months free before your subscription starts, and a direct line to the team.

Beta units may have early-stage features, and your feedback shapes the future of family connection. What you won't hit: ads, a privacy surprise, or a price change once you're in.

01 · Households

How many locations do you want to connect?

You need at least two Hearths to connect together. One Hearth per home, all set up and managed from a single family account.

You pay a refundable deposit per Hearth. Add more later — beta households get priority when new slots open.

02 · Subscription

One subscription for the whole Higlo.

The plan follows how many homes you connect — 2–3 run on Warm, 4–5 on Glow. Unlimited use, software updates, and real-person support.

How it works

This is the Hearth.

It sits quietly above your TV — one in every home, always ready.

A soft glow means someone's near.

No ringing, no missed calls. Just a warm light when your family's around.

Lift the lid, and you're in.

The Hearth and your TV wake together, the cameras open — you're in the room.

Step into your shared space.

Two homes, one Higlo — together on the big screen.

Everyone stays in frame.

The picture re-frames itself as people move — even when the kids won't sit still.

Close the lid. You're done.

The Hearth and TV switch off together. Nothing's on until you open it again.

The setup

One box per home.

Each household's Hearth ships to their own door, ready to go.

One family account.

Name each home and manage it all from your phone — set up once, for everyone.

Clip on. Plug in.

The Hearth clamps onto your TV with a single cable. Join WiFi and you're set.

Already set up for you.

Show the QR code to your Hearth and step straight in — no accounts to wrestle.

Off means off.

Privacy first

Off means off.

The cameras and microphone only wake when you lift the lid. No ads, no data trading, and only the homes you invite can ever connect.

Ordering frequently asked questions

Order & availability

What’s the difference between a Beta Batch and a Public Batch?

Beta Batches are made available earlier, and are a smaller run for those early customers that are up for helping us shape the product and experience. Public Batches are the first higher volume productions run of the Hearth, which will be available a bit later.

When will I actually receive my devices?

Depends which batch you go for. Beta batches ship within weeks of ordering, while the Public batches are available from early 2027. If things change, we’ll let you know and generally keep you updated.

What’s the cost?

To secure your spot on a production run, all you’re required to do is pay the refundable Hearth deposit now, and the subscription doesn’t start until the devices have shipped and you’re through your initial free period.

Which regions can I pre-order from?

For the beta batches we’re shipping to the US, UK, Canada, and countries in the EU first. The devices work internationally, but we can’t ship them everywhere yet. We’ll expand to more regions as quickly as we can.

How many locations can I connect?

You can choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 locations. We know some families span more; we’re starting with 5 during the beta and may raise the cap later.

Pricing & subscription

Why a subscription instead of a one-off purchase?

Running Higlo’s real-time communication service has ongoing costs, we lease network capacity and operate secure low-latency infrastructure so calls feel instant and natural. The subscription model lets us include the hardware you need up front and keep the service reliable over time.

Will the subscription price change after this order period?

We don’t yet know our long-term running costs exactly, but your subscription price is locked for life, including your discount, which is also for life. If our costs go down over time, we’ll pass those savings through, and your lifetime discount still applies.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. You can cancel any time, even after your first month, and we’ll arrange collection of the devices. You can also cancel your pre-order before shipment for an instant refund of your deposit. You can cancel through the web-portal, and if you don’t have access to that yet, just send us a message for an instant refund.

How can I get my Hearth's refundable deposit back?

You can cancel any time, even after your first month, and we’ll arrange collection of the devices, and your deposit will be refunded. You can also cancel your order before shipment for an instant refund of your deposit. You can cancel through the web-portal, and if you don’t have access to that yet, just send us a message for an instant refund.

Shipping, bundles & addresses

Can you deliver different Hearths in my bundle to different addresses?

Yes — that’s the default. During checkout you give us a delivery address for each Hearth (or one address for all of them, if you’d rather hand them out yourself). Before anything ships, we’ll email you to confirm every address, in case someone’s moved.

Does every household need its own account?

No. One “owner” household can manage all linked Hearths, set up once, then everyone just enjoys the connection and using Higlo.

Using Higlo (how it works)

How is Higlo different from normal video calling? Do I ever “dial” someone?

Higlo uses shared family spaces, step into a space on your TV and your loved ones see you’re there and can drop in. No ringing, no missed calls, just natural, living-room-to-living-room moments. You don’t dial; you simply open the space that belongs to you, if Grandma & Grandpa are there, you’re connected instantly; if not, you can hang out, draw, play a mini-game, or leave a note until they arrive.

Can I join from a phone or laptop?

At launch, Higlo-to-Higlo is the best and only officially supported mode. A companion mobile app is on the roadmap so when you’re on the road, or away from home, you can join in the call, or read a goodnight story too.

Does it work with Zoom, FaceTime, or WhatsApp?

Higlo is optimized end-to-end for its own calling engine and experience, while also designed to be safe for kids and limit the possibility of calls and interactions with strangers. We hope to add support for third-party platforms in the longer-term but this will not in be in the first release, as we have to find the right way to do this safely, that also doesn’t degrade the call quality and experience for our regular family users.

How do I control it?

A simple gesture interface (hold your hand up to activate, wave to select, click your fingers to choose), designed to be used by all ages and regardless of what language you speak. Plus optional voice commands for more advanced functionality. No tiny remotes to lose and no fingerprints on the TV.

Where do I change settings or invite new family members?

Day-to-day use happens on the Hearth on the TV. There’s no setting menu there to break things, or cause any issues. For occasional setup, naming spaces, choosing who’s in each one, you’ll use the Higlo Web Portal from your phone or laptop.

Privacy, upgrades & peace of mind

How do you protect my privacy?

Every Hearth has a physical lid that slides over cameras and cuts the power to the microphones, when you’re not using it, an unmistakable on/off switch. We don’t access your personal data when on calls, and there’s no advertising.

What if the hardware improves later?

Your subscription includes free hardware upgrades. When we release a new Hearth, we’ll give you the option to swap your old ones if you like.
